Brazilian football legend Zico has voiced strong support for Carlo Ancelotti, calling him the perfect choice to guide Brazil’s national team back to the top of world football. Speaking in Japan, where he serves as an adviser to J. League club Kashima Antlers, Zico praised the Italian manager’s deep understanding of Brazilian players and football philosophy.
Ancelotti, the first non-Brazilian to coach the national team in nearly six decades, has pledged to restore Brazil’s dominance and win the World Cup. His success in nurturing talents like Vinicius Junior at Real Madrid is cited as proof of his ability to bring the best out of Brazilian players.
Zico emphasized that Ancelotti’s footballing style aligns closely with Brazil’s traditional approach and expressed confidence that his experience and tactical expertise can help the team thrive. With five Champions League titles and a stellar resume across Europe’s top clubs, Ancelotti is managing a national team for the first time.
Noting the decline in demand for Brazilian coaches globally, Zico said the federation made the right decision by appointing Ancelotti, whom he described as “the best” available option.
