Gaza has become the only defined area in the world where every resident is at risk of famine, according to Jens Laerke, spokesperson for the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA). Speaking on Friday, Laerke declared that “100 percent of the population” in Gaza is at famine risk, underscoring the severity of the humanitarian crisis in the war-torn region.
