Two Gold Traders Killed as Sand-Laden Truck Hits Motorcycle in Rajbari

Two gold traders lost their lives in a tragic road accident when a sand-laden drum truck collided with their motorcycle on the Rajbari-Kushtia regional highway in Pangsha upazila, Rajbari district, on Wednesday afternoon.

The accident occurred around 2:30 PM in the Naopara area near Machpara bus stand, according to local police. The victims, Md Korban Sheikh (55) and Ashok Kumar Roy (60)—both residents of Kamalapur in Khoksha municipality, Kushtia—were neighbors and long-time business partners.

They had traveled to Pangsha earlier that day to attend a Mahajan Halkhata program. According to Md Bakul Hossain, a neighbor, the duo was on their way home when a speeding sand-laden truck from Kushtia struck their motorcycle.

Locals rushed to help and transported the injured men to Pangsha Upazila Health Complex, where duty doctors declared them dead. Dr. Tansusma from the facility confirmed that both men had succumbed to their injuries before reaching the hospital.

Pangsha Model Police Station Officer-in-Charge Md Salauddin stated that efforts are underway to identify and apprehend the truck and its driver responsible for the fatal collision.
