Two individuals lost their lives after being electrocuted on Sunday afternoon in Chittagong’s GEC area, near Basar Villa on MM Ali Road, close to Shahid Abdul Halim College.
The victims have been identified as Tayeb, 45, from Purbo Gol Magra in Mirsarai upazila, and Rabiul, 14, son of Humayun from Jabirpara village in Pakundia upazila of Kishoreganj district.
Nurul Alam Ashiq, in-charge of the police outpost at Chittagong Medical College Hospital (CMCH), confirmed that both victims were brought to the hospital in critical condition. However, doctors at the emergency department declared them dead upon arrival.
The exact circumstances leading to the electrocution remain unclear. The bodies have been kept at the hospital morgue and will be handed over to their respective families.
