Travis Head Tests Positive for COVID-19, Ruled Out of Hyderabad’s Next IPL Match

The ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) has been impacted by a COVID-19 case, with Sunrisers Hyderabad’s Australian batter Travis Head testing positive. As a result, he will miss the upcoming match against Lucknow and is currently in isolation.

Hyderabad coach Daniel Vettori confirmed the news, stating,
“Travis Head has contracted COVID-19, so he won’t be traveling with the team. We’re hopeful he’ll be available for the next match, but that will depend on his recovery and fitness.”

While Hyderabad—last year’s finalists—have already been knocked out of the playoff race, they’re now playing to salvage pride. Their next match against Lucknow still holds significance, especially for Rishabh Pant’s squad, who are hanging onto playoff hopes. If Pant’s team wins all their remaining matches, they could reach 16 points, though even that might not guarantee a spot in the final four.
