Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman has extended his sympathy and support to Rakibul Hasan, an electrician and activist of the Swechchhasebak Dal, who was injured during the July 18 movement near the ECB premises in Dhaka. Rakibul was reportedly attacked by members of the ruling party’s student wing, Chhatra League, alongside police forces.
Acting on Tarique Rahman’s directives, a delegation from ‘Amra BNP Paribar’ visited Rakibul’s family on Thursday in the Tetultala area of Khilkhet. The delegation was led by BNP Senior Joint Secretary General and Amra BNP Paribar Chief Adviser Advocate Ruhul Kabir Rizvi.
Other members of the delegation included convener and journalist Atiqur Rahman Rumon, advisors Engineer Ashraf Uddin Bakul, Md Abul Kashem, Engineer Mostafa-e-Zaman Selim, Member Secretary Agriculturist Moksedul Momin Mithun, and members Masud Rana Liton, Mustakim Billah, Farhad Ali Sajeeb, and Shahadat Hossain.
They spoke with Rakibul’s mother and conveyed a personal message of solidarity and good wishes from Tarique Rahman. The delegation assured the family of ongoing support for Rakibul’s recovery and pledged to stand by him in the future.
Jatiyatabadi Swechchhasebak Dal Vice President Dr Zahid, Chhatra Dal central committee Vice-President Habibul Bashar, Joint Secretary Hasnain Nahian Sajeeb, and other student leaders were also present during the visit.
