Shrimp Larvae Worth Tk 4.65 Crore Seized in Patuakhali Joint Operation

Bangladesh Coast Guard and the Department of Fisheries seized 1.55 crore pieces of shrimp larvae worth approximately Tk 4.65 crore during a joint operation in Patuakhali Sadar upazila early Thursday. Acting on a tip-off, authorities intercepted a suspicious truck near the old airport area around 4 AM and found the larvae being transported illegally without permits. The seized larvae were released into the Lohalia River in the presence of the Upazila Fisheries Officer to prevent ecological damage, said Coast Guard Media Officer Lieutenant Commander Harun-or-Rashid.
