Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has hailed the success of Operation Bunyan-un-Marsus as a historic moment, declaring it a powerful response to Indian aggression and a symbolic revenge for the 1971 war. His remarks were made during a visit to Pasrur Cantonment in Sialkot on Wednesday, where he met with soldiers who participated in the operation, according to Geo News.
Sharif stated that Pakistan’s armed forces demonstrated unmatched precision and determination, successfully repelling India’s offensive “within a few hours.” He praised the military’s performance as a heroic defense of the motherland and a decisive blow to what he described as the “brutal aggression” of the enemy.
Joined by Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, Defense Minister Khawaja Asif, Information Minister Ataullah Tarar, and the chiefs of the army, navy, and air force, Shehbaz emphasized national unity and military readiness in the face of external threats.
In a pointed message to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Shehbaz accused India of supporting separatist groups like the Baloch Liberation Army and Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan, similar to its alleged role in supporting the Mukti Bahini during the 1971 Bangladesh Liberation War.
“Pakistan wants peace,” Shehbaz asserted, “but don’t mistake our desire for peace as a sign of weakness. Keep your fiery speeches to yourself.”
