Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs has been found guilty of two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution but acquitted of more serious charges of sex trafficking and racketeering conspiracy. The 55-year-old rapper faced a potential life sentence if convicted on all charges but now faces a maximum of ten years in prison.
During the verdict reading, Combs held his hands in prayer and subtly pumped his fist. His lawyer requested his release on bail to return to Florida, but prosecutors argued he posed a flight risk and might commit further crimes. Judge Arun Subramanian has asked both sides to submit their arguments before making a bail decision.
Combs, who has been jailed since his arrest in September 2024, bowed his head in prayer as his family applauded him in court. The charges stem from allegations first raised by his ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura in November 2023, which were settled out of court a day after her lawsuit was filed. Combs still faces multiple civil sexual abuse lawsuits, all of which he denies.
