Rizvi: Dhaka University Was Like a ‘Village of Robbers’ Under Hasina’s Rule

BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi criticised Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, saying Dhaka University became a “village of robbers” under her tenure. Speaking at a candlelight vigil by Chhatra Dal on Tuesday at the central Shaheed Minar commemorating the 2024 mass uprising martyrs, Rizvi said the program marked a step forward in the struggle for democracy. He accused Hasina’s government of suppressing students and described Chhatra Dal’s role as pivotal despite repression. Other BNP leaders echoed calls for Tarique Rahman’s return to power and vowed to continue their movement for democratic rights.
