Bangladeshi leg-spinner Rishad Hossain delivered an impressive performance in his debut Pakistan Super League (PSL) season, claiming 13 wickets in just 7 matches. He started strong with 8 wickets in his first three games and remained a standout bowler despite the tournament being disrupted by rising military tensions between India and Pakistan.
Although Rishad missed some matches due to national team commitments, he returned to add 4 more wickets and ended the season as a PSL champion. His performance marks the third-highest wicket haul by a Bangladeshi player on debut in a foreign franchise league.
Only Shakib Al Hasan (19 wickets in the 2011 Vitality Blast) and Mustafizur Rahman (17 wickets in his debut IPL season with Sunrisers Hyderabad) have taken more wickets on debut in a franchise tournament.
Rishad also ranked 10th overall in total wickets and 5th in bowling average among bowlers who delivered at least 20 overs. His strong start hints at a promising future both in franchise cricket and for the Bangladesh national team.
