Leg-spinner Rishad Hossain rejoined Bangladesh’s training on Friday ahead of their must-win second ODI against Sri Lanka at R Premadasa Stadium, Colombo, on Saturday. Rishad, who missed the first ODI due to fever, was seen training intensively in a video released by the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB).
Rishad played a key role in Bangladesh’s 2-1 series win against Sri Lanka in March 2024 and is likely to feature in the playing XI as Bangladesh consider changes after their 77-run defeat in the first match, which included a shocking collapse of seven wickets for just five runs in 26 balls.
Meanwhile, under-pressure opener Liton Das was absent from practice. Liton has been in a prolonged slump, scoring only 13 runs in his last eight ODIs, with four ducks and no scores in double digits, including a duck in the first ODI.
