Ringo Starr revealed he still feels like he’s in his twenties as he approaches his 85th birthday on 7 July. Speaking to The New York Times, the Beatles drummer shared, “I look in the mirror and I’m 24. I never got older than 24,” before joking to himself, “But guess what? You did.”
Reflecting on his enduring energy, Starr credited his passion for performing, saying his mother always noticed he was happiest playing drums. “I love what I’m doing,” he said, adding, “I live in the now. I didn’t plan any of it. I love that life I’m allowed to live.”
The legendary musician, who has been touring with his All-Starr Band since 1989, is currently promoting his country album Look Up, which features collaborations with Billy Strings, Molly Tuttle, and T-Bone Burnett.
