Richard Ashcroft has announced his seventh solo album Lovin’ You, set for release on October 3, marking his first new record since 2018’s Natural Rebel. The album’s lead single Lover, currently playing on UK radio, samples Joan Armatrading’s Love And Affection and sets the tone for a project exploring themes of love, romance, and personal struggles.
Lovin’ You spans Ashcroft’s signature acoustic ballads, anthemic indie rock, Americana, soul, and glitch electro beats. The former Verve frontman co-produced the album with Chris Potter and Emra Ramazanoglu, while I’m A Rebel was co-written and produced with Mirwais, known for his work with Madonna.
The album will be released on CD, digital, and multiple vinyl formats, including neon orange (official store), regular orange (Amazon UK), and blue (select indie stores). Ashcroft will support Oasis on their upcoming Oasis Live ’25 Tour, expressing his excitement to open for Noel and Liam Gallagher, who inspired some of his best songwriting.
