Rajshahi University Central Students’ Union General Secretary Salahuddin Ammar has issued a direct challenge to all concerned, demanding credible evidence of the extortion allegations leveled against him and announcing that he will quit politics if the accusations are proven true with evidence. He made the challenge in a status posted on social media on Thursday, October 1, in the afternoon, writing, “My challenge to the people of the whole country.”
In the post, Ammar claimed that there have been long-standing attempts to portray him as an “extortionist” through various media outlets. In response, he called on all relevant parties—including intelligence agencies, Bangladesh Islami Chhatra Shibir, political parties and the media—to bring any victim forward and publish verifiable information and data if there is any allegation of extortion against him. He urged people to disclose not only allegations of extortion but also evidence of him taking a single rupee illegally from anyone. “I am clearly challenging you—prove that I took a bribe from anyone,” he wrote.
Salahuddin Ammar stated that he would quit politics if the extortion allegations against him are proven with reliable evidence, adding, “Don’t make accusations, give evidence. If the allegations come to my face, I can tell you.” At the end of the status, he reiterated the same challenge to those concerned and said he would remain steadfast in his position. The statement comes amid ongoing discussions and allegations surrounding his tenure as RAKSU GS, and his public challenge places the burden of proof on his accusers, while also signaling that he is prepared to step away from politics if the claims are substantiated. The post has drawn attention on social media and is likely to intensify the debate over the allegations and the evidence behind them.
