Emma Raducanu has advanced to the third round of Wimbledon after an impressive straight-sets victory over former champion Marketa Vondrousova, winning 6-3, 6-3. Earlier, Raducanu defeated 17-year-old British wildcard Mingge Xu in her opening match, also in straight sets.
This marks a strong return to form for the 2021 US Open champion, who has struggled to replicate her Grand Slam success in recent years. Raducanu now faces her toughest challenge yet, taking on world No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka in the third round. Despite Sabalenka being the clear favourite, Raducanu remains optimistic, embracing her underdog status and hoping to continue her strong Wimbledon run. The match will be broadcast live on BBC and covered by ESPN.
