Prime Accused Arrested in Narayanganj’s Ratan Murder Case

Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested Yanus, 40, the prime accused in the Ratan murder case, during a joint operation by RAB-11 and RAB-13 in Kurigram’s Panchgachhi upazila on Wednesday night. On June 17, Yanus and eight others lured Ratan, brutally killed him by slitting his throat and severing his veins, and dumped his body in a canal. Yanus had been hiding and planning to flee to India. Earlier, two other suspects, Ismail Prodhan and Osman Gani, were arrested. Police confirmed the murder resulted from a drug trade and territorial dispute between Ratan and Yanus. The accused has been handed over to Sonargaon Police Station and sent to Narayanganj court.
