Preity Zinta Slams Third Umpire Over Controversial Six Decision in Punjab vs Delhi IPL Clash

Bollywood actress and Punjab Kings co-owner Preity Zinta expressed her frustration over a controversial third umpire decision during her team’s IPL match against Delhi Capitals. The incident occurred in the 15th over when Shashank Singh’s shot to long-on was caught by Karun Nair near the boundary. Nair immediately signaled a six, claiming his foot had touched the boundary rope.

However, the third umpire ruled that Nair’s foot did not make contact with the rope, awarding just one run instead of a six. Zinta, who spoke with Nair after the match, said he confirmed it should have been a six. Taking to X, Zinta criticized the use of technology, calling the error “unacceptable” in a tournament of IPL’s stature.

Punjab ultimately lost the match to Delhi by 3 balls. Zinta argued that the misjudged decision could have changed the game’s outcome, as the extra five runs might have put her team in a winning position.
