Three people were killed when a police helicopter crashed and caught fire in Thailand’s Prachuap Khiri Khan province on Saturday. The Bell 212 aircraft, operated by the Kanchanaburi Police Aviation Unit, went down near a local village. All those aboard — two pilots and a mechanic — perished in the accident, according to a Royal Thai Police statement.
Rescue teams confirmed the fire had been extinguished, but the cause of the crash remains unknown. Police chief Kitrat Panphet has ordered an immediate investigation and pledged compensation for the victims’ families. The Royal Thai Police extended their condolences to the bereaved.
