A petrol bomb was thrown at a group of pro-Israel protesters in Boulder, Colorado on Sunday, injuring at least six people. The U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has classified the incident as a terrorist attack, according to reports by BBC and Al Jazeera.
The attack occurred during a demonstration calling for the release of Israeli hostages held in Gaza. A suspect was arrested at the scene without resistance. In video footage from the incident, a shirtless man can be seen shouting anti-Israel slogans such as “Down with the Zionists” and “Free Palestine” while flames burn nearby.
FBI Director Cash Patel confirmed the incident as a “planned terrorist attack” and said a full investigation is underway. Boulder Police Chief Steve Redfern stated that multiple people sustained burn injuries and emphasized the swift response by law enforcement in apprehending the suspect.
