Over 20 Villages in Satkhira Celebrate Eid-ul-Adha in Line with Saudi Arabia

More than 20 villages in Satkhira observed Eid-ul-Adha on Friday, June 6, following the Saudi Arabian calendar. Eid congregations began in the morning at various mosques, including the first prayer held at 7:45 AM at Bhadukhali Ahle Sunnat Al Jamaat Jame Mosque, led by Maulana Mahbubur Rahman.

Villagers from areas such as Islamkati, Goalchattar, Bhadra, Ghona, and Mirgidanga took part in the celebrations, with both men and women attending prayers. Local residents say this practice of aligning with Saudi Arabia’s Eid dates has been followed for nearly a decade without conflict. After prayers, worshippers embraced and performed the ritual animal sacrifice in a peaceful and solemn atmosphere. Authorities and community leaders have acknowledged and supported the separate observance.
