A young man was seriously injured after being buried in a landslide caused by continuous monsoon rainfall in Thanchi, Bandarban. The incident occurred around 11:30 AM on Monday, June 2, in the Tindu Union market area—a remote village in the district.
The injured, identified as 38-year-old Chashinu Marma, was buried when a landslide struck and collapsed his kitchen. Locals quickly rescued him and admitted him to the Thanchi Upazila Health Complex for treatment.
Tindu Union Parishad Chairman Bhagyachandra Tripura confirmed that the family is facing severe hardship following the incident. Upazila Nirbahi Officer Mohammad Abdullah Al Faisal also acknowledged the situation and stated that they were informed of the landslide and are monitoring the victim’s condition.
