Notundhora Assets Ltd has made history as the first housing company in Bangladesh to receive a formal recommendation from the National Housing Authority (NHA) for a private housing project under the Private Residential Land Development Rules of 2004 (amended in 2012 and 2015).
The approval came via an official letter from the NHA Chairman, following Notundhora’s full compliance with regulatory requirements—including environmental clearance, Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) approval, authorization from the Dhaka Transport Coordination Authority, and a non-encumbrance certificate from the District Administration.
Dr. Md. Sadi-uz-Zaman, Managing Director of Notundhora and a governing body member of the FBCCI, hailed the milestone as a turning point for Bangladesh’s real estate sector, emphasizing that such recognition promotes transparency and accountability in land development.
Notundhora has also earned honorary recognition from upazila revenue authorities for being a top-tier taxpayer, reinforcing its image as a compliant and responsible developer.
Dr. Zaman, who holds a PhD in real estate management from a Paris-based university, highlighted that the future of Dhaka’s land development hinges on the implementation of the Detailed Area Plan (DAP)—which could significantly affect housing prices and urban planning strategies.
