New Security Rules at Dhaka Airport: Prior Permission Needed for Firearm Entry

Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport has introduced new security measures requiring prior written permission and record-keeping for carrying firearms into the airport. This is part of six newly implemented safety steps aimed at enhancing passenger security, including stricter screening for VIPs and VVIPs, mandatory manual checks of high-risk bags, regular AVSEC briefings, increased CCTV surveillance, and the formation of investigation committees for any security breaches. Authorities emphasized strict enforcement of these measures for all passengers without exception.
