NCP to Hold Press Conference on 2025–26 Budget Today at 3 PM

The National Citizens Party (NCP) will hold a press conference today, June 3, to deliver its official response to the proposed national budget for the 2025–26 fiscal year. The briefing is scheduled for 3 PM at the party’s temporary office in Bangla Motor, Dhaka, as confirmed by NCP Joint Member Secretary Saleh Uddin Sifat in a statement issued on Monday.

NCP Convener Md. Nahid Islam, when approached by journalists following a political dialogue at the Foreign Service Academy, said the party would formally react to the budget during today’s press event.

The budget, presented on Monday by interim government finance advisor Saleh Uddin Sifat, outlines a total expenditure of 7.9 trillion taka—equivalent to 12.7% of the country’s GDP. It aims to address pressing economic challenges, including high inflation, revenue shortfalls, financial sector instability, and global economic uncertainties.
