Amid swirling social media speculation regarding the possible resignation of Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus, National Citizens’ Party (NCP) Convenor Nahid Islam met with him on Thursday evening for a closed-door discussion.
According to senior NCP sources, Nahid visited the Chief Adviser’s official residence, Jamuna, around 7:00 pm, where the two engaged in a private conversation focused on Yunus’s potential decision to remain in office.
When reached for comment, Nahid Islam acknowledged the meeting but refrained from sharing any further details.
Later that same evening, two other advisers—Mahfuz Alam and Asif Mahmud Sajib Bhuiyan—were also seen visiting Professor Yunus at his residence, signaling intensified consultations within the interim government amid growing uncertainty.
