The government has temporarily suspended National Board of Revenue Commissioner Zakir Hossain for obstructing revenue collection by keeping customs offices closed and halting customs clearance at Chattogram port, effectively stopping export-import trade. The suspension order, signed by NBR chairman Md Abdur Rahman Khan, was issued on Tuesday. Hossain will continue to receive his facilities during the suspension, which will take effect soon.
