Bagatipara Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Ha-Meem Tabassum Prabha has sparked widespread criticism after using a government vehicle to transport a sacrificial cow from Rajshahi to Natore. The incident occurred on Thursday, June 5, after the UNO attended a meeting at the Divisional Commissioner’s office regarding mango trade practices.
Following the meeting, the UNO visited Rajshahi’s City Hat market, purchased a cow, and transported it in the rear cabin of the official double-cabin pickup, while seated in the front. When questioned, Prabha defended the action, stating there was no cattle market in Bagatipara and there was available space in the vehicle.
However, Additional Divisional Commissioner Mohammad Habibur Rahman condemned the act, calling it inappropriate and promising a review of the incident to prevent such misuse of government property in the future.
