Mustafizur’s IPL Return in Doubt Amid NOC Hurdles and Schedule Clash

Bangladesh pacer Mustafizur Rahman’s participation in the remainder of IPL 2025 with Delhi Capitals remains uncertain due to complications surrounding the No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB).

Despite Delhi Capitals naming Mustafizur as a replacement for Australian batter Jake Fraser-McGurk, the BCB has clarified that it has yet to receive a formal NOC request from either the player or IPL authorities.

Mustafizur is currently with the national team in the UAE for a two-match T20I series against the hosts on May 17 and 19. Following that, Bangladesh is scheduled to tour Pakistan for a five-match T20I series beginning May 27—though that tour has not been officially confirmed due to ongoing regional tensions.

These national duties overlap with Delhi Capitals’ remaining league fixtures on May 18, 21, and 24, putting his IPL availability in question.

BCB insiders indicated that a partial NOC allowing Mustafizur to play in two of the three remaining IPL games might be considered, provided a balanced approach is reached between national and franchise commitments. A final decision will depend on upcoming discussions among the BCB, Mustafizur, and IPL officials.
