A full-scale monsoon rain cycle named ‘Jhumul’ is expected to impact Bangladesh starting Wednesday, May 28, with effects likely to continue through June 3, according to the Bangladesh Weather Observation Team (BWOT). The system, coupled with a potential low-pressure formation in the Bay of Bengal on Tuesday, may trigger widespread rainfall and gusty winds across the country.
The most affected regions are expected to be Rangpur, Khulna, Sylhet, Chittagong, and Mymensingh, with Dhaka, Barisal, and Rajshahi divisions also likely to experience significant rain. Authorities have urged residents in vulnerable areas to stay alert and take precautions against potential storms and flooding.
