Mehidy Hasan Miraz Set for PSL Debut with Lahore Qalandars After BCB Clearance

Bangladesh all-rounder Mehidy Hasan Miraz is set to make his debut in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) after receiving a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) on Monday.

Miraz will join Lahore Qalandars and is cleared to play in the tournament from May 22 to 25, confirmed BCB’s cricket operations manager Shahriar Nafees. “He applied for the NOC this morning and received it in the afternoon,” Nafees told reporters.

This will be the 27-year-old’s first appearance in an overseas franchise league. Recently named ICC Men’s Player of the Month for April, Miraz is currently not part of the Bangladesh squad playing a T20I series against the UAE.

Lahore Qalandars, who secured a playoff berth with a win over Peshawar Zalmi on Sunday, have already signed fellow Bangladeshi star Shakib Al Hasan. Miraz is expected to strengthen Lahore’s spin attack during the crucial knockout stage.

The PSL had seen a brief suspension earlier this month due to India-Pakistan tensions, causing Bangladeshi players Rishad Hossain and Nahid Rana to return home. Miraz now steps in as part of Lahore’s reinforced lineup.

In his T20 career, Miraz has played 153 matches, claiming 107 wickets at an economy rate of 7.55 and scoring 2,099 runs, including seven fifties.
