Mariah Carey Unbothered After Third Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Snub

Mariah Carey has brushed off being overlooked once again by the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, making it clear the omission does not trouble her. The “Hero” singer was not selected for induction for a third consecutive year, despite her long list of achievements and influence in the music industry.

When asked about the snub in New York, Carey responded simply, “No,” when questioned if she felt frustrated. She went on to emphasize her appreciation for her fans, saying their support matters most. “Who cares? Like, give it to somebody else, fantastic,” she added, signaling her indifference to the decision.

The five-time Grammy winner first became eligible in 2016 and received her first nomination in 2024. Despite holding an impressive record of 19 number-one singles on the Billboard Hot 100 and six number-one albums on the Billboard 200, she has yet to secure a place in the Rock Hall.

Carey recently released her 16th studio album, Here for It All, continuing to build on a decades-long career that has shaped pop and R&B music.

This year’s inductees include Oasis, Phil Collins, Wu-Tang Clan, Billy Idol, Iron Maiden, Joy Division/New Order, Sade, and the late Luther Vandross.

Other notable nominees who missed out include Lauryn Hill, Pink, Shakira, Jeff Buckley, The Black Crowes, INXS, New Edition, and Melissa Etheridge.

The 2026 induction ceremony is scheduled for 14 November in Los Angeles, with the event set to air on ABC and Disney+ in December.
