A man was killed by a lightning strike on Wednesday while working in a field in Gangua village, Ranisankail upazila of Thakurgaon district.
The victim was identified as Altafur Rahman, 55, son of the late Bhubon Ali and a resident of the same village.
According to Abdul Malek, a member of Lehemba Union Parishad, Altafur was harvesting paddy near his home during rainfall when he was struck by lightning and died on the spot.
Family members and locals later recovered his body from the field.
