A 28-year-old man, Md Ala Uddin, reportedly died by suicide on Saturday evening in Kabirhat upazila of Noakhali district following a family dispute involving his mother.
The incident occurred after a community meeting was held to address ongoing issues between Ala Uddin and his mother. During the meeting, attendees urged him to apologize by touching his mother’s feet. Instead, he insulted her in front of the gathering, then returned to his room and took his own life by hanging.
Kabirhat Police Station Inspector (Investigation) Md Monjur Ahmed confirmed the incident and said the body has been sent to Noakhali General Hospital for autopsy. An unnatural death case has been filed.
