A controversy erupted at Government BL College in Khulna after a Class 11 sociology exam contained a question referencing Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman’s historic house number 32 in Dhanmondi. The question described a scene of Mr. Riaz showing his granddaughter the house and referring to Bangabandhu’s Six-Point Demands as “the key to fulfilling long-awaited dreams.”
Authorities cancelled the examination after discovering multiple inconsistencies, including jumbled question numbering and mismatches between prompts and questions, which caused confusion among students. Assistant Professor Nitya Ranjan Sarkar, who prepared the question paper, has been sued, and a three-member investigation committee has been formed to probe the incident.
Principal Sheikh Humayun Kabir confirmed that questions 4, 7, 9, and 11 contained significant errors, leading students to laugh during the exam. The administration withdrew the paper mid-exam and destroyed most copies while retaining samples for the investigation.
