BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia urged the nation on Tuesday to seize the current moment to establish a fresh democratic order while preserving national unity. Speaking virtually at a discussion titled ‘Mass Uprising 2024: National Unity and Democratic Journey’ at the China-Bangladesh Friendship Conference Centre in Dhaka, she highlighted the importance of creating employment, ensuring security, and safeguarding Bangladesh’s independence. Marking the launch of BNP’s 36-day commemoration of last year’s July-August mass uprising, Khaleda stressed that the sacrifices of heroes must not be in vain. The event also featured virtual remarks by BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman from the UK and speeches from senior leaders and families of political martyrs.
