The Jatiya Nagorik Party (NCP), born out of the July Uprising and led by youth activists, is set to officially launch its youth wing, Jatiyo Juboshokti, this Friday at Shaheed Abrar Fahad Avenue in Gulistan, Dhaka.
The announcement was made Tuesday afternoon at a press conference held at Rupayan Tower in Banglamotor, where NCP Chief Coordinator Nasiruddin Patwary was joined by Youth Wing Coordinators Tarikul Islam, SM Shahriar, Tuhin Mahmud, and Nahida Bushra.
“Since the party’s inception on 28 February, we’ve connected with people across all districts to discuss the need for a youth platform. Just as Gonotantrik Chhatroshokti played a pivotal role in the July Uprising, Jatiyo Juboshokti is positioned to lead the next phase of national transformation,” said Nasiruddin.
Highlighting the significance of the current political climate, he added, “Moments like this come once in a century. With 40% of the population being youth, mobilizing this force is essential to shaping Bangladesh’s future.”
Nasiruddin pointed out that a core driver of the Quota Reform Movement was frustration over youth unemployment and exclusion from decision-making. “Juboshokti is now tasked with channeling that momentum into real engagement—economically, politically, and culturally.”
NCP Joint Chief Coordinator (Youth) Tarikul Islam emphasized the legacy of youth activism in Bangladesh. “From the anti-colonial struggles to the Language Movement and the Liberation War, youth have always been at the forefront. Today’s generation is just as patriotic, but politics has become unapproachable. Juboshokti will offer a safe, unified platform rooted in moral ideals and free expression.”
Since its launch in February by student leaders who spearheaded the July Uprising, the NCP has been rapidly expanding. In addition to the youth wing, the party has already formed several sector-specific wings, including Health, Diploma Engineers, Women’s, Labour, and Lawyers’ wings—with public launches planned in the coming weeks.
