Iran’s Education Minister Al-Reza Kazemi confirmed that 30 students and 7 teachers were killed during the 12-day Israel-Iran war that began on June 13. Despite emergency measures and formation of 14 special committees to protect students, the casualties could not be avoided. Israeli air and drone attacks targeted military, nuclear, and residential areas, while US strikes on June 22 hit key Iranian nuclear facilities. Iran responded with missile attacks on Israeli cities before a ceasefire was mediated by US President Donald Trump on June 24.
