Islami Andolan Bangladesh has expressed disappointment with the proposed national budget for FY2025–26, labeling it as “traditional, conservative, and uninspiring.”
In a statement issued Monday night, the party’s joint secretary general, Maulana Gazi Ataur Rahman, said the budget reflects a continuation of past patterns, lacking bold reforms or fresh vision. He noted that reductions in size, revenue targets, ADP allocation, and GDP projections make the proposal appear overly cautious.
While critical of its lack of innovation, Gazi Ataur did commend the government for avoiding overly ambitious targets often seen under what he called “opportunistic authoritarian regimes,” calling the move a responsible step toward fiscal realism.
