Iran’s top Shia cleric Ayatollah Nasser Makarem Shirazi has issued a fatwa declaring US President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu as “enemies of Allah,” calling them mohareb (warmongers) under Islamic law. The fatwa urged global Muslim unity to overthrow leaders who threaten Iran’s Islamic leadership. Under Iranian law, those labelled as mohareb face severe punishments, including death or exile. Shirazi warned that any cooperation with these leaders by Muslim nations is haram (prohibited). The declaration comes amid escalating Iran-Israel tensions, which have killed over 600 people in 12 days of strikes targeting top Iranian military officials, nuclear scientists, and facilities.
