The flood situation in India’s Himachal Pradesh has worsened, with 34 deaths reported so far due to continuous rains and landslides. Shimla, Kangra, and Simor districts are the worst affected, with major disruptions to communication, destruction of homes, and damage to government buildings. Initial financial losses exceed Rs 650 crore, and authorities fear the figure may rise. A high-level emergency meeting has been called to address the crisis. Meanwhile, in China’s Guizhou province, floodwaters have started to recede, prompting the lifting of high alerts and initiation of rehabilitation efforts.
