As part of the 5th phase of the Hilsa Resource Development and Management Project, the Lalmohan Upazila Fisheries Department in Bhola distributed heifers to 32 fishermen on Tuesday morning to promote sustainable alternative livelihoods.
The distribution ceremony, held at the Upazila Parishad premises, was presided over by Upazila Fisheries Officer Ali Ahmed Akhand, with Upazila Nirbahi Officer Md Shah Aziz attending as chief guest. Officials from the Marine Fisheries, Social Services, and ICT departments were also present. The initiative aims to reduce dependency on hilsa fishing and support community resilience through livestock farming.
