French Court to Deliver Verdict in $10M Kim Kardashian Paris Robbery Trial

A French court is set to deliver its verdict on Friday in the high-profile trial of 10 individuals accused of robbing American reality TV star Kim Kardashian of nearly $10 million in jewelry during a 2016 heist in Paris.

The accused, including nine men and one woman—many now in their 60s and 70s—have been dubbed the “Grandpa Robbers” by French media due to their age and vintage crime-world personas. Prosecutors are seeking 10-year prison terms for the four men alleged to have carried out the robbery, including 69-year-old Aomar Ait Khedache, known as “Old Omar,” who is believed to have orchestrated the crime.

Kardashian was tied up and held at gunpoint during the incident, which remains the largest robbery against a private individual in France in two decades. A diamond ring worth $3.9 million, gifted by then-husband Kanye West, was among the stolen items—most of which were never recovered.

Testifying in court, Kardashian recounted fearing she would be raped and killed, though she expressed forgiveness toward the attackers, saying the trauma had permanently altered her sense of safety.

The trial has drawn massive media attention, with fans and reporters crowding the Paris courthouse. Defense lawyers have asked the jury for leniency, citing the defendants’ advanced ages and health issues. The final ruling is expected Friday.
