After four and a half years, football returned to Dhaka’s National Stadium with Bangladesh facing Bhutan and Singapore in June. The Bhutan match saw a strong win, while Bangladesh lost 2-1 to Singapore. Despite high demand and ticketing complaints, BFF revealed that both matches were organized without spending from its own funds, covering all expenses through match income. Competition Committee member Tajwar Awal stated this was the first time BFF achieved such financial sustainability. Although BFF planned to replace the stadium grass post-matches, they have deferred it to maintain readiness for the October Asian Cup qualifier against Hong Kong.
