A five-year-old boy was tragically killed on Thursday when a speeding truck ran over him in front of M A Gafur Memorial Academy in the Binderpara area of Jamalpur Sadar upazila.
The victim, identified as Abir, son of Rashedur Rahman from Shabajpur, was a student at the academy. According to witnesses and police, the truck struck him on the Dhaka–Jamalpur highway, leaving him dead at the scene before fleeing.
Jamalpur Sadar Police Station’s Officer-in-Charge, Faisal Atik, confirmed the incident and noted that no formal complaint has been filed yet.
