Finance Adviser Dr. Salehuddin Ahmed confirmed on Tuesday that there will be no hesitation in allocating funds for the upcoming national elections, emphasizing the government’s readiness to provide all necessary financial support. Speaking at the Secretariat after the Cabinet Committee on Government Purchase meeting, he stated, “There will be no austerity when it comes to allocating funds for the national elections.”
The meeting also approved key decisions on container handling at Chittagong Port, purchases of DAP and urea fertilizers, LNG supply measures to boost fertilizer production, and the renovation of 30 schools in Rangpur. Meanwhile, Shipping Adviser Brigadier General (Retd) Dr. M Sakhawat Hossain clarified the final gazette declaring NBR services essential and noted that port operations continued during recent disruptions. The assurances come as Bangladesh prepares for its general election in the coming months, with authorities committed to ensuring smooth logistical and financial execution of the polls.
