A 60-year-old farmer named Nayeb Ali was allegedly beaten to death by a group led by his neighbor Yunuch Ali over a land dispute in Maliat village, Kaliganj upazila, Jhenaidah, on Tuesday morning. The attackers ambushed Nayeb Ali while he was working in his field and assaulted him with sticks and local weapons. He was later declared dead at Kaliganj Upazila Health Complex. The victim’s family alleges the attack was premeditated, citing prior threats. Police have recovered the body and sent it for autopsy while launching efforts to arrest the suspects. Tensions remain high in the village following the incident.
