Anticipation is soaring ahead of Bangladesh’s high-stakes football showdown with Singapore on June 10, fueled by the home debut of Premier League star Hamza Choudhury and the introduction of Bangladeshi-Canadian talent Shamit Som. However, the excitement has been overshadowed by confusion and frustration over the chaotic rollout of online ticket sales.
Originally scheduled to begin at 12 PM on Saturday, ticket sales were abruptly delayed until 8 PM by the Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF), citing logistical issues. This marks the first time tickets for a Bangladesh national football match are being sold online—raising concerns that were quickly validated as technical and organizational problems emerged.
Fans voiced their frustration as many struggled to understand the process or access the platform. Tickets are available in 10 pricing categories, from Tk 400 for general gallery seats to Tk 5,000 for hospitality and corporate boxes. To deter black market activity, each person is limited to five tickets and must provide personal identification details, including a national ID.
With mounting pressure, the BFF is being urged to ensure a smoother ticketing experience moving forward, especially for a match that symbolizes both emotional excitement and national pride.
