Environment Ministry Denies Reports of Attack on Advisor Syeda Rizwana Hasan’s Convoy in Sherpur

The Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change has clarified that reports of an attack on Advisor Syeda Rizwana Hasan’s convoy in Sherpur are false. In a press release issued on Monday, May 26, the ministry confirmed that her visit to the Daodhara Garo Hills Tourism Center and the Madhutila Range was part of a scheduled program and proceeded without incident.

During her visit, she engaged with local communities, distributed compensation to victims of elephant attacks, and held discussions on forest conservation and human-wildlife conflict. The events were described as peaceful and cordial. The ministry acknowledged a minor verbal altercation between a few individuals and journalists, but stated it was unrelated to the advisor’s activities.
