DU Grants Special Admission Privileges to Families of July Uprising Martyrs and Injured

Dhaka University has announced a special admission program for the families of those killed or injured during the July uprising, honoring their sacrifice during the civil unrest. The initiative, approved by the Deans’ Committee and confirmed via an official press release on Monday, applies exclusively to first-year undergraduate programs for the 2024–25 academic year.

Eligible applicants include spouses, children, and, in some cases, siblings of gazetted martyrs and officially recognized injured individuals. This one-time policy bypasses standard admission requirements and aims to provide educational opportunities as a form of recognition and support for affected families.

University officials described the initiative as both a tribute to civic sacrifice and a step toward healing and progress. While the framework has been finalized, detailed application procedures and documentation guidelines are expected to follow soon.
